3G By Nepal Telecom: A Fast Speed Internet Experience

Nepal telecom offers quality services to its customers, which are not only limited to postpaid and prepaid services but internet services, are also offered. Now, Nepal telecom offers 3G services to the people of Nepal and Nepali customers can enjoy live TV browsing. The downloading speed with this offer is 384kb per second, while uploading speed is 64kbps.

There are some new services, which are added in this internet experience like Video call, which offers video calling service between two users.  A great verity of videos is available on Nepal Telecom video server and customers have access to them as well. Moreover, customers can watch live TV with this service.

Other than that some other services are also offered for 3G customers. Ring back audio is now an old feature, now customers can watch video instead of ring back tone.  Customers can send video clips to others.  Not only clips but can send video greetings as well. Customers can also do video surveillance with this service. Although 3 G service is limited to few cities, 59 sites are Kathmandu and 1 site is in Pokhara, but company is planning to expand the coverage. Right now coverage is available in Lumbini, Pokhara city, Banepa and Kathmandu Valley. When you are not in 3 G coverage area, you can use GPRS service of Nepal Telecom.

Tariff is different for postpaid and prepaid customers. For postpaid customers, subscription charges are Rs. 2,130 and monthly charges are Rs. 300. Voice call charges are Rs.2 for a minute and MMS charges are Rs. 1.50. In case of prepaid customers, subscription charges are RS 200 and for 2G users activation charges are Rs. 100. Voice call charges are Rs. 2 and this offer will remain active for 9 months.

You can activate 3 G service by using data cards. In case of mobile handset, insert this card in mobile and dial 1414. If you want to activate USB modem and install the software, configure settings and dial *99# you can recharge your balance and transfer your balance too. If you want to recharge you have to dial *411* recharge number#.
